Canon Releases Google Cloud Print Upgrade

Canon has updated the firmware for a trio of recent printers, bringing support for Google Cloud Print. The PIXMA MG8250, PIXMA MG6250 and PIXMA MX895 multifunction devices can now be set up to print directly from Gmail, Google Docs and from any Google Print-enabled application or mobile device. With a Google Print-enabled printer, you can also print from any internet-connected computer by sending a document directly to your printer using your web browser.
Canon has also brought AirPrint to many of its recent range of printers, again with a firmware update. The complete list of Canon printers that are compatible with AirPrint can be found on
If you own a recent Canon printer, it’s a good idea to check whether your firmware is the latest version. Go to  and navigate to your particular model using the Product Finder menus. Follow the Support & Download link, click the Downloads tab and select Firmware. If there’s an upgrade available, you can download and install it – full instructions are given.
